Our people must be able to work in a safe environment

BAM has a great project; the Stadsbaan tunnel in the municipality of Utrecht.
The tunnel was constructed to enable large-scale urban development on top of the tunnel and at Utrecht Leidsche Rijn station. The maintenance protocols and regulations are very strict for tunnels and therefore also for the Stadsbaan tunnel. Maintenance is carried out several times a year during which the tunnel is closed at night. At these times, an entire team is hard at work on everything that's been scheduled. And to solve any disruptions that arise as a result, for example. “It’s all hands on deck!” At a time like that, 60 to 70 people can be on site throughout the various spaces inside the tunnel.

Safety is top priority at BAM

So if something happens, it’s very important that the right aids are within reach. Within this project, a special agreement was made with the municipality of Utrecht; together with BAM they paid for the purchase of an AED.

Contact was made with AED-Partner and they quickly ensured that an AED was placed in the tunnel. "Before the upcoming maintenance night: we're super happy about that! Good advice was given about, for example, which type of AED is best suited for such an environment and which cabinet to use."

This time it was just about 1 AED, but that may change in the future, we have more projects running and in the pipeline.
