The advice is to place the AED at eye level, easily visible and easily accessible. The general recommendation for mounting an AED cabinet is that the center of the cabinet be placed at 1.50 meters from the ground. AED-Partner specializes in installing AED cabinets.

It's an excellent initiative to give an AED a community function by placing it outside on a building and making it available for saving a human life. Especially in municipalities, companies and residential areas where most resuscitations occur, it's very important to place AEDs outside. The location of the AED must be easily accessible for civilian emergency responders (burgerhulpverleners). There are various types of outdoor cabinets. Please note that the cabinet is equipped with cooling or ventilation and heating and must therefore always be connected to a power supply. Of course it’s always important to continue to maintain the AED. An outdoor cabinet should never be placed in direct sunlight.

An AED has an internal battery with an expiration date, so the device does not need power.

If you want a cabinet with a PIN code, ventilation, cooling or heating, it’s necessary that it’s connected to the electricity network. AED-Partner can install the cabinet for you.

It's not necessary but using children's electrodes is recommended. Adult electrodes can also be used when nothing else is available, by adhering them to the front and back of the child. The adult electrodes are connected to the AED as standard. This means that in a panic situation the electrodes have to be changed, which can cause a delay. A child key or child button on the AED can therefore be a solution. If you work a lot with children (for example at schools, daycare centers, swimming pools, sports facilities, etc.) our advice is to take this into account.

The clothing scissors are used to remove clothing from the upper body, this is essential for good accessibility with regard to adhering the electrodes. The latex gloves are for hygienic work. The supplied razor blades are for shaving a hairy chest. The respirator mask is intended for safe and hygienic mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. In short, this rescue kit is essential!

Almost all AEDs are delivered ready to use, but some useful accessories are not always included. In any case, you need a rescue kit. This is a bag with a mouth-to-mouth resuscitation mask, a razor, clothing scissors, gloves and a towel. The AED must also always be easily accessible, so a wall bracket and/or wall cabinet are recommended. If there is a risk of theft then choose a wall cabinet with an alarm.
